This privacy policy explains what information Global Ordnance: The Iron Fist (the “game”) handles when you play it on Android (Google Play) or iOS (App Store), why, and what you can do about it. It is written by AWN Games (“we”, “us”). We’ve tried to keep it short and in plain language. This policy covers the game only. For this website, see our website privacy policy.

Global Ordnance privacy policy in one minute

  • No accounts, no names, no email. You never sign up to play.
  • Ads: the game shows ads from Google AdMob. Google collects device data to deliver and measure them (see “Advertising”).
  • Your progress stays on your device. Saves, settings and statistics are stored locally.
  • Two optional switches, both off unless you turn them on: “Share my battle stats with the world” and “Help train the Adaptive AI”. If you turn one on, battle results are sent to our server with a random install ID. We never store your IP address.
  • Reminders and the rating card don’t send us anything.
  • We don’t sell your data. Questions: support@awngames.com.

Some features below arrive with game updates. If your version doesn’t have a feature yet, nothing related to it is collected.

Who we are

Global Ordnance: The Iron Fist is made by AWN Games, San Diego, California, USA, an indie studio founded by Viktorija and Alex Glonti. We are a two-person team, and we are responsible for the data described in this policy. You can reach us at support@awngames.com.

Information stored on your device

The game saves your progress, settings, in-game statistics and achievements, and your privacy choices in a save file on your phone or tablet. We cannot see this file. It is deleted when you uninstall the game, although your device’s own backup service (Google or iCloud) may keep a copy, depending on your device settings.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

The game is free and shows a limited number of ads to fund its development. The ads are served by Google AdMob. To deliver, measure and protect the ads against fraud, Google automatically collects information from your device, including:

  • device identifiers, such as the advertising ID;
  • IP address and approximate location;
  • device type, operating system and language settings;
  • app interactions, such as which ads were shown or tapped;
  • diagnostics, such as performance and crash information related to the ads.

Google processes this data under its own privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy. You can learn how Google uses data from apps that show its ads at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Your ad choices.

  • Android: Settings > Google > Ads (the path varies by device) lets you reset or delete your advertising ID.
  • iPhone and iPad: the game does not ask for permission to track you through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency, so your Apple advertising identifier (IDFA) is not shared with ad networks.
  • European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland: when you first start the game, it shows Google’s consent message before any personalized ads are served. There you can accept, reject or manage individual purposes. You can change your choice at any time from Settings > Ad privacy choices in the game. That option arrives in the next update; until then, contact us at support@awngames.com and we’ll help.
  • United States: under some state privacy laws (for example California’s), letting an ad network like Google AdMob collect device data for personalized ads can count as “sharing” personal information. You can stop it by opting out of personalized ads: reset or delete your advertising ID as described above, or contact us.

Optional: world battle stats and the Adaptive AI

The game can offer two optional switches. You’ll find them on a one-time card after a battle and, permanently, in Settings > Privacy. Both are off until you turn them on. To turn either on, you first confirm that you are 16 or older. Without that confirmation, both stay off and nothing is sent.

“Share my battle stats with the world”

When this is on, the game sends a short summary to our server at the end of each battle:

  • a random install ID that the game creates on your device. It is not linked to your name, your Google or Apple account, or your advertising ID;
  • a random ID for the battle, so the same battle is never counted twice;
  • the game version, and whether you play on Android or iOS;
  • the battle’s length and results: shells fired, enemy units destroyed, Mammoths destroyed, war funds earned, and whether you won.

Our server also notes the country the upload came from. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, works this out from your connection. Like any internet service, Cloudflare needs your IP address to deliver the request, but we never record or store it.

Why: to add your battles to the worldwide totals shown on awngames.com and in the game (for example “shells fired worldwide” or “most active countries”), and to keep those totals free of fake or broken uploads. The public only ever sees combined totals. A country is only listed once many battles have come from it.

“Help train the Adaptive AI”

The game’s Adaptive AI reads how you play in real time to keep battles challenging. When this switch is on, the game also sends gameplay data from your battles, together with the same random install ID, game version and platform. We use it only to improve the Adaptive AI for all players. It contains no name, account, contacts, location or advertising ID.

Where it is stored and for how long

The data is stored on Cloudflare’s servers, which process it on our behalf (Cloudflare privacy policy). Cloudflare runs a global network, so the data may be processed outside your country.

  • Per-battle records with the install ID: 14 days. After that, only combined totals remain.
  • Adaptive AI data: up to 180 days, then deleted.
  • Combined totals (a made-up example: “12,000,000 shells fired in Germany”): kept indefinitely. They contain no install ID and cannot be traced back to you.

Changing your mind

  • Turn a switch off in Settings > Privacy. The game stops sending that data immediately and asks our server to delete everything stored under your install ID for that switch. The game then creates a new random install ID.
  • Uninstall the game. This removes the install ID from your device. Records on our server expire as described above.
  • Email us at support@awngames.com. Because we don’t know who you are, we can only find your records if you include the install ID shown in Settings > Privacy.

Reminders and the rating card

Comeback reminders. The game may schedule a few reminders on your device, for example if you haven’t played for several days. They are local notifications: your phone schedules and shows them itself. No notification server is involved and no data is sent to us. The game asks for notification permission (on Android 13 and later, and on iOS) only after you have won your first battle. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings.

Rating card. The game may occasionally show a card asking whether you’d like to rate it. Tapping the button only opens the game’s page on Google Play or the App Store. Nothing is sent to us. Any rating or review you leave is handled by Google or Apple under their policies.

How we use information

  • to show ads that fund the game (through Google AdMob, as described above);
  • if you opted in: to show worldwide battle totals and to improve the Adaptive AI;
  • to protect the game and its statistics from abuse.

We do not sell your data. We do not use the data from the optional switches for advertising, and we do not combine it with advertising data.

Legal basis and your rights

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we rely on your consent for the two optional switches, and you can withdraw it at any time as described above. Withdrawing doesn’t affect uploads made before you switched off. Google’s consent form covers personalized ads.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • access the data we hold about you, and get a copy of it in a portable format;
  • have it corrected or deleted;
  • object to or restrict how we use it;
  • withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting what happened before;
  • complain to your local data protection authority.

Contact us at support@awngames.com and we’ll help. For data from the optional switches, please include the install ID shown in Settings > Privacy so we can find it.

Children

Global Ordnance: The Iron Fist is intended for players aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The optional battle-stats and Adaptive AI switches can only be turned on by players who confirm they are 16 or older. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the game, please contact us and we will delete it.

Security

Everything the game sends to our server travels encrypted over HTTPS, and we keep as little as possible for as short a time as possible. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable precautions to protect the data we hold.

Changes to this policy

We’ll update this policy as the game evolves, and change the “Last updated” date at the top when we do. If a change affects the optional switches in a meaningful way, the game will ask you again before sending anything.
