Global Ordnance: The Iron Fist is a free WWII-style real-time strategy game built for your phone: tap, deploy and push the front. Update 1.22 is one of our biggest yet. A brand-new intro tells the story of how the war began, Hawk and Sabrina now teach you the ropes in a brand-new voiced tutorial, you can become a supporter and remove ads for good (and keep a Founding Supporter stamp), and the game is steadier than ever.
01 · StoryA brand-new intro
The first thing you’ll see in 1.22 is a new opening: a motion comic that shows how the world of Global Ordnance went to war. It’s darker, longer and far more cinematic than the old one.
It runs about two and a half minutes (2:31), fully voiced, with a soundtrack in the old war-movie spirit. Seen it already? One tap skips it, but watch it once first.
It’s also a taste of what’s coming. We’re building a campaign, and every chapter will be told this way. Expect many more stories.

02 · Boot campA brand-new tutorial
Remember when we paused the old tutorial in 1.21? Many of you told us it was slow and outdated, and you were right. So we threw it out and built a new one from scratch.
Now Hawk and Sabrina walk you through your first battle themselves, every line fully voiced. Their portraits react as you go: a grin when you get it right, a stern look when the enemy pushes. You learn by doing, one step at a time:
- Deploy your first tanks and send them to the front
- Research upgrades that change how a unit fights
- Command whole groups with two, three or four fingers
- Plant a Radar Truck spy for steady income
- Call in an airstrike, and shoot enemy planes out of the sky

Already a veteran? Tap Skip tutorial on any card. You can replay it any time from Tutorial on the main menu, and it fits foldables too. And if you get bored, try poking Hawk a few times. Just saying.
03 · Your callRemove ads. Forever.

Global Ordnance only ever shows a few ads, between matches, never in the middle of one. If you’d rather have none at all: one purchase, once, and even those few are gone for good. No subscription, nothing to renew, nothing to cancel. It stays yours: reinstall the game or switch phones, tap Restore purchase, and it comes straight back.
LAUNCH PRICE $4.99 (US)UNTIL NOV 10, 2026
After November 10 the price goes up to $7.99 (US).
Back the game before November 10 and a Founding Supporter stamp lands on your main menu, for good. It’s our thank-you to the players who were here early.
Find it on the main menu (Become a supporter — Remove ads) or in Settings.
Why now? Global Ordnance is made by two indie developers working from a van on the road. The game stays free to play for everyone, with just those few ads keeping the lights on. Supporters make sure the next units, fronts and stories get built. Thank you.
On Android now. On iPhone with the iOS 1.22 update, as soon as Apple approves it.
04 · SteadierFewer crashes, fewer freezes
Some of you told us the game froze or closed on its own, especially at the start. We went hunting and applied a fix. The game should now start faster and hold up through long matches on far more phones. If something still goes wrong on yours, tell us. We read everything.
05 · Stay currentNever miss an update
On Android, when a new version is ready, the main menu tells you. Say yes and it downloads in the background while you keep playing. When it’s done, you get a simple Restart now / Later choice. It only ever shows up on the main menu, never during the intro, a loading screen or a match, and at most once a day. (On iPhone, updates come the usual way, through the App Store.)
06 · HQ callingA message from headquarters
After you’ve played for a while, HQ may send you a short transmission on the main-menu screen, asking for a rating on Google Play. If you enjoy the game, a few seconds of your time really helps more players find it. Not now? Tap Later, and it won’t keep nagging you. (On iPhone, Apple’s own rating prompt does the asking instead.)
